Every Brand Starts Somewhere. Ours Started Long Before Eklavya.
Eklavya was an idea only a year ago.
Jewellery, however, has been part of our family since 1950.
We — Saksham and Nitish — are the fourth generation of a family that has spent decades around gold, silver, craftsmen, customers, manufacturing and everything that happens before a piece finally reaches a jewellery box.
So when we decided to build something of our own, we weren't trying to enter an industry we had just discovered. We were trying to change something we had already spent our lives around.
The question that started Eklavya
Buying silver should be simple.
You like a piece. You know what it is made of. You understand what you're paying for. And you trust that what arrives is what was promised.
But that wasn't always what we were seeing. Customers often had very little visibility into the purity of silver jewellery, how that purity could be verified, or why two similar-looking pieces could have dramatically different prices.
People looking for genuine 925 silver jewellery deserve clear answers: What is the material? How can it be verified? What finish is used? What exactly are they paying for?
In India, silver hallmarking remains voluntary. Under the current BIS standard, a hallmarked silver article carries its fineness grade and a Hallmarking Unique Identification (HUID) code. BIS recognises 925 as one of the official silver fineness grades, and a hallmarked article's HUID can be checked through the BIS Care app.
In simple terms: 925 sterling silver means 92.5% silver.
We believed customers deserved to know that — and much more — before giving a jewellery brand their money.
Then came the second problem: price
When we started studying the modern online silver market, we did find brands selling authentic sterling silver. But another question appeared:
Why did real silver have to feel so expensive once a brand name was attached to it?
Design, craftsmanship, stones, finishing, packaging and service all have value. A well-made piece should never be judged only by the day's silver rate.
But we also knew, from being closer to the jewellery trade, that the journey between manufacturing and the customer matters. So we began working from the other direction: manufacturing first, then suppliers, processes, samples, products, packaging, the website — and eventually, Eklavya.
Staying closer to manufacturing allows us to reduce unnecessary layers between the making of a piece and the person eventually wearing it. Our goal is to keep more of what you pay connected to the actual jewellery rather than to unnecessary layers around it.
Not because we want Eklavya to be cheap jewellery. Because we want the reaction to be:
“This feels like a very good piece for what I'm paying.”
Why Eklavya?
While everything else was being built, we needed a name.
For both of us, one story had stayed with us for years — Eklavya.
We were inspired by his persistence. His ability to keep learning. To show up despite obstacles. To continue practising his craft when the easier path wasn't available to him.
To us, his story represented discipline, mastery, karma and the determination to prove what you are capable of. That gave us the name — and eventually, the words that would sit underneath it:
Wear Your Worth.
Not because jewellery determines your worth. Quite the opposite.
The jewellery is simply something you choose to wear because that worth already belongs to you.
And that's where our story actually begins
Our family history gave us jewellery knowledge. The gaps we saw gave us a reason to build. Manufacturing gave us a way to do it differently.
But Eklavya won't ultimately be defined by either of us. It will be defined by the people who choose a piece, wear it to work, gift it to someone they love, take it to dinner, keep reaching for it on ordinary mornings and make it part of their own lives.
We started the story. You decide where it goes next.
Wear Your Worth.
